Remote Access Tools, Screen Sharing Tools
Remote Access tools.
-
Not Tested: https://rustdesk.com/ - OSS - Seen on Hacker News, and /r/selfhosted - looks good, has iOS clients even, and a hosted NAT buster proxy
-
-
OLD: I've recently grown envious of LogMeIn.com tools.
-
Here are some alternates (in case you can't install LogMeIn because "other" support guys have it tied up):

-
GONE: GBridge - http://www.gbridge.com/ - free and firewall friendly - somehow builds a VPN, then runs VNC through it.
-
TeamViewer - http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx - free for non-commercial users (sort of, seems to be sensitive to more than a couple installs).
-
AnyDesk - https://anydesk.com/ - free for non-commercial users
-
Works Well: https://remotedesktop.google.com/support

Not Tested: https://www.meshcommander.com/meshcentral2 - Open Source

-
ChunkVNC - is somewhat like join.me
-
Free (?) VPN: http://www.neorouter.com/Downloads_nrfree.html
-
Join.me - the GUI does NOT display on a VNC connection, it does show on an RDP connection... if for example you wanted to share a remote test computer over join.me
-
Note: Windows Remote Assistance is wrapped around Remote Desktop, it does NOT magically go through NATs (and is thus basically useless for most scenarios).
Second Computer as Second Screen
Newer - Win8 compatible - http://spacedesk.ph/download/
ZoneOS uses a kernel driver to make a fake video card which is streamed to another computer with client software - i.e. turn a 2nd computer into a 2nd monitor - it's basic windows extended desktop after the install - I've used this. http://www.zoneos.com/zonescreen.htm - Seems to have stopped at experimental Win7 support.
Publishes a port behind a NAT to the public Internet
Nice. Has free tier. You get a https://yourapp.ngrok.io URL (I think). It must do something similar to SSH port tunneling, just nice and bundled.
https://ngrok.com/
PowerAdmin.com
Free as in Beer remote monitoring software and some sort of proxy for RDP. Sounds like a pre-packaged SSH server w/RDP and VNC tunneling and ping based monitoring bundled in. Found via an add on reddit.
