USB Thumb Drive Problem Windows XP

WinXP has an annoying feature with thumbdrives, if the drive letter that it expected to use for the flash drive is taken, it doesn't do anything. No error, no message, nothing.

Anyway, some quote from an article in USENET on how to set the drive letter:

I suspect that the drive letter that you had previously assign to the usb
thumb drive is now being used by other hardware (presumably you added
another
hdd or cdrom?).

Start / Program / Administrative Tool / Computer Management / Storage /
Disk
Management

and click on the usb thumb drive. Make sure you change the usb thumb drive
drive letter to one that you're not using (M, N, O to Z). Should solve your
problem now.
