Rechargeable Batteries
I've rediscovered rechargeable batteries. NiMH's are awesome. Longer life than alkalines, and then you recharge them! I've got them in my Palm, my digital camera, and a couple flashlights. I highly recommend them.
Now if only I could find a place to buy these cheaper in Canada.
On temperature:
-
NiMH (and NiCad and alkaline) use water base - doesn't flow well below zero - apparently.
-
LiON much more resilient.
-
"According to Sanyo’s datasheet (PDF), basic AA Eneloops are only rated down to 0°C/32°F. Any colder than that and you can probably expect to see greatly reduced performance in medium and high-drain flashlights and devices." - https://toolguyd.com/flashlight-tool-batteries-cold-weather/
