Free EPS conversion

Another file conversion problem with graphics file formats... someday this will all go away.

Today's Trick

Input file:

Encapsulated Postscript File (EPS) from Adobe on a Mac - don't think that makes a difference.

Destination:

SwishMax Flash animation editor which accepts in vectors EMF and a few other vector formats.

Steps:
Open EPS in GhostScript. Save as PDF.
Import PDF in Inkscape. Save as EMF.

Note:

If you don't need to keep it vectors, Ghostscript has worked for me in the past to export to JPG or PNG or other raster format.

Another longer recipe I used before:

Scribus opens EPS fine.

Save in Scribus to SVG

Inkscape opens SVG

Save in Inkscape as EMF

SwishMax opens EMF.
