The default behaviour in MS Access is to highlight the entire field contents whenever you tab into the field (or if you Alt-Tab into the Microsoft Access database from another program).

It's annoyingly easy to wipeout the contents of a field this way.

To disable:

In Access go to Tools.  Then Options. See 'Keyboard' tab.

Set 'Behaviour Entering Field'.
