Reset Synaptic Touchpad with Keyboard
I know that I'm not the only one who has problems with their laptop touch pad going crazy after a boot or wake from standby. All you need to do is screw up the capacity reading at power up by touching the pad while the mouse is getting setup.
Anyway, rather than reboot, you can do this (actually, I've automated this into an auto-it script):
Start -> Run:
Control main.cpl @0,4
Then use F5 and Tab to get to the correct synaptic tab.
Hit Alt+R to do the reset.
