ADSL - Router - LAN Checklist

Draft checklist to get a basic 1 PC store POS internet connection working.


  1. check connections
  2. get modem and router models and find images of indicator lights -- uniserve.com is good for common biz class adsl modems
  3. check LAN. Private IP --> DHCP and switch probably working
  4. ping 4.2.2.4 is pretty good (it's actually a big DNS server for one of the ISPs in the USA)
  5. find a way to eliminate cables as source of error
