I've finally decided to take steps to prevent web accelerators from causing serious harm to the back office of any websites that I manage:

This page offers some PHP and ColdFusion code to forbid google accelerator -- it's not really a long term solution, the "proper" thing to do is rewrite those dangerous GET requests into POST requests.
