NT4 Scheduled Task Network Issues...

Argh.

OK, some notes:

The "AT" command was the key to the original Windows NT4 scheduling tool.  It defaults to the LocalSystem account which (as far as I can tell) can NOT map a network share (as a drive or a UNC path) via the "NET USE" command - there are a lot of ambigous postings in the Usenet groups.  You can change the user in the Services page.

The scheduler was upgraded massively with the IE4+ kit -- the imfamous major OS upgrade that got bundled with the Internet Explorer browser.  I believe lawsuits were made on this one.  Back on topic...  you can not change the user in the Services page now.

Instead, the new scheduler is much like the modern one in W2K and Windows XP.  You can specify the account for each scheduled task.  However, tasks created with the AT command will still run in the LocalSystem account context.  You can change THIS behaviour in the scheduled task window under the Advanced menu.

Blah.
