2020-01: To change router behind a bridged Shaw modem, just power cycle the Shaw modem and it will clear the MAC address of router from the system and allow getting a new IP - https://support.shaw.ca/t5/internet-discussions/dhcp-lease/td-p/230

OLD - 2003!
This little Scribble contains my notes as a Shaw Cable Internet customer. I've been a customer for 3 years now... it's about time I plopped down some notes about it in the Scribble Web. This page is a little brief now, but it will hopefully fill out over time.
smtp forwarding. Shaw's mail servers (in Vancouver anyway) will forward/send email for you even if your "from" email address is not *.shaw.ca - of course, you have to be on the Shaw network to do this! In Vancouver, use "smtp.vc.shawcable.net" as the upstream SMTP server.
ip addresses. They are pretty stable. They are technically dynamic, but on average I've had the same IP for about 6-9 months - if not more. I'm currently getting close to a year at my current spot.
