Additional Draft List - RDP, YouTube: Google Doc
A list of relatively obscure shortcut keys for various programs:
Windows:
Ctrl + Shift + Esc - brings up task manager - one less click that Ctrl+Alt+Del and picking Task Manager
Alt + F4 apparently brings up a login form for Windows 7 in a lock screen - not tested yet - my computers don't have this problem.
Windows Key + Shift + Arrow Key - Move a window from one screen to another.
Alt + Esc - move current window behind all others
Alt + Space, then N - minimize current window
Win10: Shut Down: Press Windows key + X, followed by U, then U again to turn off.
Win10: Reboot: Press Windows key + X, followed by U, then R to restart.
OT: Move windows that are off-screen or on other screen to primary screen - Windows 10, 8, 7, and Vista, hold down Shift while right-clicking the program in the taskbar, then select Move.
Most Microsoft stuff:
Ctrl+; - inserts today's date
Ctrl+Shift+: - inserts time
MS Access:
Ctrl+F2 - "zooms" the current input field.
MS Excel:
F2 - edits the currently highlighted cell (in place)
There is a comprehensive list of shortcut keys in the MS Office help menus.
I've also used the GPL tool "HotKeyBind" to create custom shortcuts for rebooting and shutting down a HTPC from the wireless keyboard. Very handy!
