Delete Cookies, Temp Files, Recycle Bin

System Profile:

XP, not sure which other Windows versions, has a bunch of Temp files hiding here:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temp

Recycle Bin(s):

If you are wiping a computer (or just making disk space) you want to clear ALL the Recycle Bins from all users of the computer. You can just delete the subfolders of:

XP: C:\RECYCLER (hidden and system)

Win7:

---

Old:

With IE you can't delete cookies using the Windows file manager, Window Explorer, My Computer or whatever because the cookie file is in use by Windows & you have no access (a sharing violation). Instead, use IE itself to delete the cookies. In IE5, for example, go to Tools, Internet Options, General tab, Settings button, then the View Files button, then choose Edit then Select All then right-click on one of the highligted files and select delete. Now your cookies should be gone. Grabbed from Deja.com
